Cookie and browser-storage information
This page explains the mechanism used by gelangpulse.org in the current theme. The website does not load analytics or advertising trackers. Its notice can be closed, optionally remembered and reset. It is not a consent manager for advertising vendors that are not present.
Version: 12 October 2026. The information describes the theme’s code; hosting, WordPress and subsequently installed plugins may need additional information. You can read the website without choosing to remember dismissal.
Resetting and reopening
The “Remove preference” action writes an expired cookie for the same name and path and then closes the panel. It does not create a separate refusal profile. On the next load, the absent preference may cause the notice to appear again. The “Cookies” footer link opens the panel when JavaScript is available.
You can change this preference without looking for technical browser menus. Resetting does not erase messages, administrator account information or records held by a separately used service. Those are different data operations with their own responsible parties.
Name, value, duration and scope
The preference name is gelangpulse_cookie_notice_v1, with the value dismissed. It is created only by the remember action. The code sets a maximum age of 180 days, or 15,552,000 seconds, and Path=/ for this website. SameSite=Lax governs certain cross-site sending situations. When served over HTTPS, the code adds Secure.
A browser can clear the preference earlier through user settings, private mode or its own policies. These attributes do not establish complete security or anonymity. The cookie is created through browser-side code and is not marked HttpOnly.
What a browser cookie does
A cookie is information held by a browser for a particular website. It is not the installation of a programme and does not grant access to every file on the device. Relevant cookies can accompany requests to their matching destination. Their purpose and duration depend on the implementation, so the word cookie alone does not establish whether it supports a login, preference or advertising activity.
The theme stores only a fixed notice-dismissal value. That value has no name, reply address, account identifier, chosen service, item list or record of the offers you read.
Questions, privacy and document changes
The optional dismissal choice is distinct from a service conversation and from technical delivery of a page. Closing a panel does not authorise unlimited device access. The Privacy page explains information handling and relevant choices; for the Malaysian audience it includes Bahasa Malaysia and English sections.
When reporting a problem, describe the browser, action and result without sending private browsing history or unnecessary screenshots. Use confirmed operator contact details. Update this page after changing storage or integrations. It does not claim control over unidentified hosting features or third-party plugins.
JavaScript, blocked storage and private mode
Without JavaScript the panel stays hidden, the theme does not execute these storage actions and the footer link leads to this information page. The page content and ordinary navigation do not require remembering dismissal. If your browser blocks cookies, the remember action may not persist between visits.
Private browsing often clears site data when the session ends. You can clear this website’s data rather than all sites’ cookies. Clearing every cookie may sign you out of unrelated services, so it is not necessary merely to close this notice.
Remembering dismissal
The “Remember dismissal” action saves the preference and closes the panel. On later page loads, the script checks for the exact dismissed value and avoids automatically opening the notice when it is present. The choice belongs to this browser and website. It does not follow you to a second profile, another device or an unrelated domain.
This is not marketing consent, an accepted booking or authorisation to add future analytics. It creates no customer account and does not save individual service terms. The footer link can still open the notice when the preference is saved.
WordPress and future integrations
WordPress may use its own authentication and session cookies for an administrator using the dashboard. These differ from the dismissal preference, and their actual inventory depends on login and enabled features. The theme adds no public customer account, comments, checkout or advertising tool.
An added plugin, embedded map, video, payment provider or analytics service can change the inventory. This dismissal panel does not automatically control those additions. Review real storage, provider access and any required choice before enabling a new technology rather than assuming that an updated text grants permission.
Closing without a new preference
The “Close now” action hides the visible panel without creating a new preference cookie. If no earlier preference exists, the notice may appear again on a later page load. Reading the website remains available after closing the panel.
Closing alone does not delete a preference saved previously. If you reopen the notice while a saved value exists and choose only close, that earlier value remains. Use the separate reset action or your browser’s site-data controls when deletion is intended.
